The decision was taken following the directive of a four-member bench of the Supreme Court to the CDA on Saturday for the provision of accommodation or rent to the affectees.
The petition was filed in the Supreme Court by five prominent lawyers, including Sharifuddin Pirzada, Dr Babar Awan, Hamid Khan, Zahoorul Haq and Qayum Malik on behalf of the residents of the Margalla Towers.
The committee will decide about a reasonable and acceptable rent to be provided to the owners and the tenants of the collapsed building according to the market rates before the second hearing of Supreme Court, to be held on Friday.
This committee is headed by CDA member finance, while member administration and President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) are the co-members and Director Human Resources Management will be the secretary.
The committee has assigned the task to ICCI president Abdul Rauf for negotiating with the affectees and decide an average compensation to them till Thursday (Today).
Talking to the media men, CDA member finance said that it is an interim plan and in the first phase they would fix the rent for the affectees and would take steps according to the detail order of the SC in the next hearing.
He said that there were 60 are tenants out of 148 residents in the five blocks of the Towers and CDA would arrange an average rent or alternate accommodation facilities to all the owners as well as the tenants.
The ICCI president said that they have decided to compensate the affectees with equivalent to the rent of AL-Mustaffa Towers and Pak-Towers. However, he said that the demands of the some affectees are very high which seems to be difficult to meet.
"We will give possible relief to the MT residents on the bases of market rates and ground reality," he said. However, it is leant that the affectees of the Margalla Towers are demanding higher rent than the one in Al-Mustafa Towers and Pak Towers, saying they had better facilities in Margalla Towers than available in both of these Towers.
